Ive done the 5 speed swap into early models three times now. Two bolts from the crossmember will line up with stock holes on the floor pan. The other two require drilling holes, getting a proper bolt and a bunch of washers. The speedo cable has a hold down in the engine bay that needs to be undone to get more reach. As for sheet metal, I cut out the floor piece from a five speed donor and stick it down with industrial sealant. You dont need to do anything to the lines except know where they are because it does get tight when installing the trans.
