last summer i had to drive my chevette daily for about 3 weeks, i was wore out from having to drive different in todays traffic, constantly looking behind me as i was threatened to get rearended or bumper taken off by someone who decides to pass at the last second. Granted parking was a breeze and gas milleage was a dream...Now once i got my 95 s10 4 banger fixed that truck felt like a rocket compared to the chevette on a good day.
Now flash back to 1985 or so and the chevette was floating around with traffic such as the omni, rabbit, golf, K car, (insert generic same shaped wedge of a stereotypical 80's car here) which all had about 100 HP. Nowadays even your economy cars have 150 hp it seems.
I do love my chevette dearly and about febuary every year i get the itch to drive it but dont until the first heavy rainfall to wash the salt off the roads.
Im one of the few lucky ones and have a junkyard nearish that has 6 or 7 chevettes still for body parts. Amazingly they just got a 78 in! shame it was sitting in someones yard for a long time and not alot super good off it...(of course you have the given of fighting off bees and rasberry bushes to get to said vehicles)
