Re: Seeking Chevette
I hope some of the remarks don't through you off course. A mechanic needs a sense of humor, and a chevette owner/mechanic even more so. The site I recommend jaxed.com is a "spider" that combines several search engines for any one model. There is always a few to several chevettes there for sale. They list one now on ebay along with several others. I have a few diesels and have been driving them for miles. To Alaska a dozen times, from coast to coast a few times. They were called GM's biggest mistake. But thats only because they need much TLC. If you get a good one, no rust, low miles, garaged, then you have a good start. My first one was in the 80's and was a dream when new. Now its hard to keep em going. The newer cars are so much more comfy, safer (good brakes) quieter, and maybe not "fun" to drive, but at the end of the day they don't wear you out. If I could afford one I would get a new cruse diesel But instead I keep the shop open and work on keeping a disposable on the road. Do you get the humor part? People say all the time that my car is so neat, and I just ask them how much they like to work on cars.
