Thankful for the umpteenth time that I was able to get me a back saver wood splitter to convert those log length 20" butts into usable pcs and dried. Have used less than two cords so far this year, much of which has been the monster twisty/gnarly (lower heat content) box elder that "kissed" the peak of my roof on the way to the wood stove. (Will take a "peck" on the peak over a wet smusher on the gable end any day...) Dumb Irish luck in full force that day!
Just checked forecast for CT coast/Beantown. Looks like they're **really** gonna have fun. Last one I enjoyed in Boston was '65 or '66 -- cars wuz bigger, but traffic was lighter by far.
