Re: To an Unknown God
Very well said brother!! As a nation, we are deviating from the original Christian-centered principles upon which this nation was founded. The farther America (and Americans) deviate from these principles, from prayer, and from our Lord...the worse things get. I do believe we spend too much time focused on idols (like our emphasis of the importance of professional athletes). We allow these idols to literally get away with murder, and then we raise our children allowing them to focus on the same things-rather than emphasizing the importance of God, we bond with them over baseball games, or football games. Moreover, as a whole, we teach them to focus on personal gain (again I'm generalizing), rather than teaching them to focus on giving and doing. As a nation, we are tainted, and our focus is 100% strained. Each person is entitled to believe as they would have it; however, to me, it is very apparent we (generalized) have lost focus on Christ, on the TRUE meaning of Christmas, and on what we are supposed to be doing! Our sacred and precious Lord sacrificed His life...enduring pain NOT ONE OF US could EVER imagine! He gave us the most precious gift, and in return, we should be offering our entire lives working to please Him, sacrificing our focus, our time, our love, our life in return for Him. In Leviticus, they offered blood sacrifices, Christ made it so that we no longer have to give such sacrifices to God; however, that doesn't mean we shouldn't still be sacrificing. Think about it...what sacrifice did YOU make for our Lord today??
