Re: A passage to chew on
What a great passage Dan! I absolutely do believe we all feel as David felt, and as his subjects felt. We *all* become discouraged, and disheartened. In some ways, this is a blessing. Without the challenges and struggles, and the tribulations that serve as catalysts for this state, we wouldn't be able to nurture and strengthen our love and relationship with God. I have to admit, over the past calendar year, the Walsh house hold has faced a large number of challenges. Many times, I found myself saddened by the reality of our situation. Many times, I was stressed, and worried, and so disheartened. I tried keeping busy, I tried finding new hobbies, I tried so many things. But the ONLY solace was found in prayer, and in the arms of our Lord. Without taking that first step and dropping to my knees, I would still be struggling with the heart ache and loss. But I know that strength, courage, love, peace, and safety are found through God. And as the "Footprints" poem says, it is during these difficult times, when we *feel* the most alone and the most worried, we are truly the closer to God for He is carrying us, and we are never alone. We simply must learn to turn to Him in all things-thanksgiving, tribulations, and all. God bless you all! Much love, Shannon
