There’s lots of us out there that could handle this job. Problem in Granite City is, if you ain’t got the name...you ain’t in the game. Opie is right and I am glad my youngest will be a Freshman next year. This town, due to who controls our government (and the voters who keep lazily filling the bubble by their names), is eroding. I have zero confidence they will do the right thing to move us into the future. That said....I still have hope, and am here for the long haul (still gonna throw my hat in the ring eventually...they don’t stand a chance when I do), but let’s call it like we see it. Until we eliminate the nepotism, we DONT have a chance (and trust me...there’s more than just me who sees it. And we all are young, highly educated, and successful professionals; and most of us are tossing around ideas about coming for your honeypot, that’s the only warning you’ll get). “Welcome to Granite City, where at least 50% of our budget pays for the family business. What’s the family business? Local government.”
