"G.D. - Imagine how these girls feel being called slu#s for this???? Just because they was having FUN... my god, these uniforms have been used for 25 years. They r not using drugs or committing crimes. They participated in the GCPD lip sync challenge, and now since all these cry babys made this a huge deal, I'm sure the video wont go public now. If there was a problem with the uniforms being so short then why didnt they change them 25 years ago. This is cyber bullying to me. Shame on all these rude comments." It is comments (and grammar) just like this, condoning this behavior, that make Granite City look like inbred hillbillies. And each and every instance of stupidity that is displayed within the school district only continues to solidify the perception other communities have of our town. Sorry, not sorry if I don't consider wearing a thong instead of the proper uniform undergarment, posing in extremely provocative photographs in an event that should show community pride..."just having fun". And having a PAID SCHOOL DISTRICT COACH participating in this tasteless display instead of guiding her students to have higher aspirations, not to mention more self respect. The only way you can respond to such stupidity from the person quoted is, sometimes you have to rise above your raisin'. Sadly, you can't force decency and common sense on people. This is NOT an issue with the dance uniforms, those style uniforms are worn ten thousand times a day by ten thousands of cheerleaders, pom and dance squads. The issue is the intentional, voluntary bearing of their asses by not wearing the rest of the uniform while representing Granite City and the GCSD #9 all under the watchful eye of their coach. These girls wanted attention, and they got it. A lot of it. This MADE THE NEWS on two local affiliates. The GCPD has to be ready to crawl under a rock. And now their parents are on social media screaming foul at anyone who doesn't think it is as cute and harmless as they do. Their parents, the girls and G.D. need to find some pride for themselves and for our town. Rise above your raisin'.
