Trigger, the people don't seem to care enough about how these elected officials spend their tax dollars. Its too much trouble to attend meetings or even observe periodically information that is readily available to all of us.
For instance, back in 2012, total GA revenue for Granite City Township was $341,528.18 - almost half of that (179,625.60) went toward payroll of the GA staff who made between $20 - $22.00/hour.
Then, a closer look at expenditures, shows the expenditure of a Staff Christmas Party having a price tag of $625.00 which the citizens of GC Township paid for.
I really don't think anyone cares that $625.00 could have made a difference to a low income family struggling to make ends meet especially during the Holiday season.
