In my next installment, I have more ideas....but it would involve changing a mentality that's racist.... Racism hurts Granite City as well.

    That's for another day.

Right now --- I'll just stil with 1. Industry (and more of it) 2. Starter homes. 3. Neighborhoods.. 4. Small Business.

Get those four things going --- and other things could follow.....just don't expect it to be like other places.

    Here's a teaser ---

To what can GC compare itself? Is there a vision of what GC can look like at its best?

Comparing itself to Edwardsville and trying to 'catch up' is a disasterous idea that will increase the blight.

It it like Alton in every way, and similar to Belleville -- and both face huge blight as well.

I argue that what Granite City at its best could look like --- if they want to see a vision of what it could be at its best.....

Go to South (St. Louis) City.

Does south City ever get bitter at South County? Maybe --- who knows...

But that's the place to stop for now.. Whenever I get in the mood and have time... I'll expound on why I think the way I do.
