Nothing wrong with a used car lot. It simply doesn't belong on a major business corridor any more than a rent to own or loan shark office does.
You obviously don't understand perception when people come into town. Other small communities like Collinsville and Fairview have those types of businesses. They don't sit in front of the mall. They're on a corridor away from the main business attraction. In our case, Myatt could have gotten a lot on Madison Avenue and set up a decent auxiliary lot.
Let's just keep accepting used car lots, payday loan places and rent to own stores. Before you know it, everything in GC will have a For Rent sign in front of it.
Love the city and have great respect for Mayor Ed but this is a huge mistake and will only make the city look worse.
