"I stand on my views that the current mayor was behind the installation of the new show"

Elroy, the only part the mayor played in having the city to build/own/operate the theater was, he was mayor at the time that Brenda Whitaker and her committee accomplished getting this done.

Brenda was the driving force to bring this from an idea to a reality. You can ask Ed about that and he will tell you. Ed asked Brenda to be the Downtown Committee Chairman. I'm pretty sure that Dan McDowell and Jack Jenkins also sat on that committee.

If you look at the ribbon cutting ceremony picture you will find Brenda and the Mayor standing in front and center, while Jon Ferry, the E.D. at that time was barely even visible in the photo.

I'm all for giving credit where credit is due, and if the Mayor had accomplished this, or even played a mayor part in getting it accomplished, I would be the first to give him that credit, but that just wasn't the case.

I keep hearing a lot of talk around town about this election and how many people are wanting her to run for Mayor. I believe if she does, she will win the election. Everyone who knows her, also knows she is someone who gets things done.

I would love to see the improvements and the difference she would make in the city.
