I don't think so in this case Chris. From my understanding the union contract has a salary schedule with columns for various levels of education. It also has a longevity step for each year the employee is there. And this isn't just for the teachers. I believe the janitorial union has the same thing. It's also the same with other government workers such as clerical workers in the FBI and ATF. The very fact that people think they should get a raise that's not performance based blows my mind. No wonder there's no push to become a better employee. I understand the salary base in the district provides for nearly a 3 per cent step each year. If I'm wrong, I apologize to those offended.
