It also says in the Bible that Jesus said when you pray, do it in the privacy of your own room, by yourself. How does prayer in school enforce this? Indeed, how does even praying together in church enforce this? (I could never understand that when I was a Christian..."Jesus said one thing, we're doing another" I thought). He also says that where two or three of you are joined together, whatever you shall ask in my name it shall be done to you. He also tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. He also says that we are to pray for one another. All through Acts you find examples of many praying together in one accord. Point - there are times when one is heavily burdened with something the Lord is dealing with you in particular over - those times God is seeking time with you alone. This time reading His Word and praying to Him is how we build a relationship with Him. Then there are times when something is bigger - community wide maybe - so prayer in that sense is needed. Also for situations like where that baby just passed and you know the parents are hurting so terribly - prayer is asked for in a broader come together sense. Secondly, will your savior send you to hell for what your brother (or government) does? Maybe Jesus was saying something about that when he said "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's"...? Not sure I understand the point here. Are we all responsible for our own actions - in voting, discussing the pros and cons of things etc..., yes. Do I think God will separate me from Himself over someone elses choice? No, I do not. Sorry, even as I look back and when I was a Christian, I'm not sure I'd agree with your thoughts about Christians running things in this country when they can't even agree amongst themselves. How would you like for the Catholic Religion to be in charge? Point to the letter that has been misinterpreted - separation of church and state. Discussed earlier. Does not mean Christians run things - means the founding of this great nation was upon the principles in God's Word. One cannot separate a core belief from some other area of their life - that core belief shapes all thoughts and ideas in all areas of ones life.
