I see no problem with people who've been around ten years making the same as folks who've done it for twenty. As an auto technician, when I hired on at a dealership, I made the same first day as guys there 10 years. Same job = Same pay. There has to be a cap.

My union has a top of scale where I am now, per contract. We get good raises twice a year, until we reach that top of scale. But depending on your starting salary, it could take up to 10 years to hit that top of scale. It doesn't bother anyone where I work that a 40 year guy and a 10 guy could be getting the same check. There has to be some end to the climb or someone could easily be making huge, huge money for doing whatever. Why does working in the same place for a lifetime merit additional pay? Plus, often times those 'lifers' aren't working hard at all or at least not like that of newer employees. Yeah, you've been here 30 years. You also got 30 years of paychecks to show for it.
There will always be a difference in seniority, but the pay should equal out somewhere. Just my opinion.
