I'm disappointed that my good friend Ronnie didn't win a seat on our board of trustees. He is a good man. The winning slate even mentioned him in their victory speech as an honorable man and good candidate. It was obvious that many residents voted straight party ballots, though, there were good candidates from every party, and Ronnie, the independent candidate.

Not one of our candidates should feel like a loser for throwing their hat in to the ring, and working hard to make a difference in their/our community.

I hope that all of these civic minded people who professed to care about their hometown's future, will continue their commitments to better Pontoon Beach, and will work with our new administration to further positive growth in Pontoon Beach.

All of the candidates are winners, for caring enough about their community to put their name on the ballot, and recognize the need for a change in Village politics.

May our Village of Pontoon Beach be the real winner in this election. There is much to be done, and not all of what is necessary will be popular with everyone.

Thank you to all who voted, too, no matter their affiliation--we had a great turn-out. Diverse elections with many choices ensure that everyone in the Beach has a voice, as it should be....

Now--onward and upward, and may our future be brighter for the experience!!

See you at the meetings-2nd and 4th Tuesdays,7pm!
