    Granite City politics has parties...it's just that there's not a second or third party to oppose.

    Thankfully, Granite City has a good Democrat in office.



    True, Madco is a one party state, so to speak. I can't tell you how many times I have been in the voting booth, and gotten to a particular race, and the only candidate is a lone Democrat, and even in city/non partisan races, there may only be one candidate, wish we had more choices, whether they be Republican, Libertarian, whoever, just give me some options, will you? lol

    Our mayor, thought GC elections are non-partisan indentifies himself as a Democrat, and ran under their flag for county board, he's more conservative than about 98% of them, though, but that has more to do with his religious beliefs...
