    Not an insider Speak but I do know people "in the know" in the district. I don't need them to tell me a smart move when I see it though.

    This new sales tax opens the door for them to lower my property tax. It also provides funds to do some good things with to school buildings.

    Tell me the downside of that. If we don't give them the new money there is no way they are going to drop our taxes. New candidates can say they will but they won't.

    It probably won't pass. There are more people in Granite (and Madison County for that matter) who don't worry about the big picture. When the schools die out and Madison and Venice further encroach on this area, those same folks will complain even louder.

    To each his own. Like I said in another thread, I won't live to see it but one thing's clear. The community will die when the schools die. Venice, Madison, ESL are all proof of that.
