Good for her. Back many years ago, I was told that all black people had to be out of Granite City by 5 or 5:30 p.m., which I thought was terrible. I was small then, and my grandmother hired a wonderful lady from Madison to babysit me during the day. My mom and grandmother both worked at my grandmother's beauty salon. I was crushed when my grandmother found out that this sweet, kind lady that took care of me became pregnant. My grandmother fired her. Being so young I couldn't understand why my friend couldn't read to me, play games etc.
