Part of the door standing proud is likely my own amatuer experience. (Rocker and qp replaced too, as well as the a-pillar)
However, once I make some adjustments I think that will go mostly away

: When replacing door skins it's pretty
: much normal to have to do some
: "fitting" on replacement
: panels but I had a very bad experience
: with one recently.
: A TR-3 door panel sourced from Moss,
: probably the worst POS I have ever
: worked with in over 45 years, and
: metalwork is a big part of my job
: rebuilding LBCs.
: Not only was the overall side profile
: wrong, but also the horizontal
: break-line curve was incorrect radius,
: and the slab-sides weren't.
: Normally this is all correctable but I
: quickly found that the material itself
: is extremely hard, pretty much
: unworkable without annealing. Nothing
: like OEM or BMH-approved panels that
: I've worked with before.
: I lost about a days work on it before
: it went into the trash, where it
: belonged...
: I don't know the manufacturer, it was
: red primer like yours.
: You'll probably have to cut-and-weld vs
: reforming a couple areas, the lower
: skin standing proud of the body will
: likely be in the door frame.
: Good luck!
