The modified/corrected T50 input shaft went in and the T50 was assembled (again!).
Now, on to the chassis. Break-out the grinder/cutter (cringe). Cut-off the chassis flanges and installed the modified Toyota mount. I think my welding actually went well - jumped up & down on the thing and it's solid (fingers are still crossed though). I'll have a separate thread on this adventure later, "but"... I'M GONNA HAVE A 5-SPEED!!! Pass out the cigars.
The T50 installation "would" have been complete this weekend "if" some numb-nuts hadn't dropped and broken the throw-out bearing sleeve (some of you have heard about that already).
Three Stromberg 150s rebuilt and some manifold issues sorted. Ready to install.
Exhaust header will be ready to install once I tie-off the header tape with some copper wire.
Starter motor flange modified for the Izuzu high torque unit.
"Almost" finished the redesigned dash board. Bummer - I need to sand off the finish (screwed up the last coat) and reapply. It's going to look SWEET!
I'm actually having some trouble finding a painter who will "just paint" the body. Everyone's programmed to do these high dollar Car-Show jobs. Hell, I'd take the whole thing to Earl Shieb if there was one close (do they even exist any more?). We don't even have a Maaco close by. Mark Haas is trying to hook me up with a painter who's literally down the street from the project. Maybe this will work out - that would really be great.
That's it for now. All that needs to done before "Tub-Mating" (be still, my heart!) is having the hybrid driveshaft made, figure out the location for the fuel system components and design/install the exhaust. Getting close! (It's "only" been seven years in the works).
Ciao! - Jim
