which would make sense if you didn't pay tax. Jersey tax would be around $550 or so on a 450.
would another dealer chop another $350 off a Jersey dealers price?? probably.so $800 is understandable if your not paying tax.
I'm calling Bullsh$t on saving $800 on a P-Dub.
dealer cost is $1274.00 retail is $1440.00 so if i take off $100 i make $66 dolars. someone loosing $700 on a P-Dub must be selling them in the back alley somewhere. i would be glad to go buy some from the shop if i can get them that cheap.
It has become the norm for local riders to head south to avoid tax. but the with no title try collecting insurance if it gets stolen some companies will pay with just an MSO and some will not. one of my Riders who bought a used 450 from a local rider is dealing with that now. bad all bad.
but on the other hand the Rednecks from down there come buy them from me without paying tax. it is their responsibility to pay it in their state.
yeah i never understood price shopping, i was more worried about being loyal to those who support our sport. or in the music gear shops the sales people who "took care" of me and are local. I can't see driving to another state like Delaware to buy Guitars , amps , PA stuff or other crap to save tax but then expect a deal on strings; heads, etc. from a local shop. because of Endorsements my Drums come directly from the manufacturer in Cali. thats why people who head south for bikes don't get a parts discount here.
