Prince Musaid, whose son killed King Feisal, also was passed over. He is still alive as the eldest living son of the late King Abdul Aziz.

: Hello Damian,
:
: I think there are many more similar
: examples, well, many is a big word but at
: least a few more. For example, Nayef himself
: has an older full brother, Prince Abdul
: Rahman (born in 1931?), who should have
: "succeeded" Prince Sultan but he
: didn't.
:
: Hello Lukasz
:
: Thanks for providing another example. There
: seems to be no information on why Prince
: Abdul Rahman was passed over. Perhaps he
: declined like Prince Mohammed did.
: Incidentally I discovered that King Abdullah
: has another older half-brother still living,
: Prince Bandar. His brief Wikipedia entry
: states that he takes little interest in
: politics and that he too may have declined
: the succession because of this.
:
: At any rate, it seems Prince Mohammed was
: not the sole example after all. Thanks for
: pointing this out.
