Just from what I've briefly read, it seems as though it is an online program. I'm thinking it's more or less like what an anesthesia tech (or an advanced anesthesia tech-as is in my case) would do here in the US. What Canada considers an anesthesia assistant and what the US defines as an anesthesiologist assistant (notice the difference in the 2 names) are completely different. In addition, because it has online curriculum, could you even imagine doing medical school online? That's what the US AA programs are like...super-intense Med school curriculum. Online would not be an option here. ALso, as a personal note, I would never use ANY anesthesia provider who got their "anesthesia education" through an online program...and I hope you wouldn't too. I would guarantee that the ASA would never support that kind of a program-and rightly so. Hope this helps.

PS..can anyone even imagine if this was true? Can you imagine how much the CRNAs would run with this "online thing" as us not being "competent enough"....crazy!
