I think the fear of salaries dropping due to over supply is more a phobia than a rationale fear. CRNA graduation rates are 1000 too few each year to fill current demand. When the baby boomer CRNAs start retiring in 10-15 years, the problem is only going to get worse. MDA graduation rates are also in the same kind of mess. AA graduation rates are going to go up but even with AAs coming on board we still will have a real provider shortage. However, what is going to kill payment is Medicare and other "insurers" just lowering assignment and payment. If they are not going to keep payment up to match inflation and in fact cut it to save money, it really does not matter how many providers you have out there, everyone is going to take it in the shorts.
