I have been shadowing dentists for the past two weeks, and I plan on shadowing an AA, soon.
To be honest, though -- I have a different idea of "making a living" than most people have. I would rather earn a high income and be able to enjoy luxurious things outside of work (big house, cars, vacations, etc.). Of course, if I harbor a profound dislike for a particular career, I won't go into it; however, I don't dislike dentistry, anesthesia or medicine in general. I could be perfectly content doing any of them for a living. If I'm earning a great income to boot, what do I have to complain about? I think about all the folks who are scraping the gutter financially doing landscaping, roofing, working in department stores, etc., and I realize that I would have no problem being an AA or a dentist.
