As a surgical technologist/surgical assistant for 7.5 years, I have noticed that no matter what, the nursing boards will always have an issue with other health care providers other than themselves. I am quite aware that not all nurses think this way, but it can become really draining when, I believe, the only thing that should matter is the patient care. The nurse practitioners have a problem with physician assistants and now the CRNA's have a problem with AA's. These fights are going to continue but the reality of it all is that it isn't going to change. Health care is evolving and it has to to create change. Change is inevitable. From what history has shown, change is also better. We, as a people, fear change and that is what this is all about. FEAR!
