Bill, I REALLY am interested in all of your "facts" as stated in your post (above). First of all, how in the world would one prove that it is easier or more difficult to gain entrance into a particular academic program over another?? Your comments, I'm sorry to say, are ludicrous. As for the difference between anesthesia prep courses, it's all from the same text books, how can one educational tract over another be so far afield...if, as you say, IT's A FACT. GPAs??? Again, I'm not sure where you're getting your "facts", but I, for one have not found any 2.0 SRNAs. Are you really so full of discontent and maliciousness that you're willing to state, in a public forum, such as this, that one group of anesthesia providers is so vastly inferior to your chosen course? I've been a CRNA for 30+ years and there is room for all three categories of providers. I have had a very good career in anesthesia and cannot for life of me begin to understand the level of dislike and disdain as exhibited by so many posts on this board. The reason the MDs have such a tremendous reputation with the general public is NOT because of their educational accomplishments (for CRNAs and AAs have shown that many can learn the skills and gain the expertise to be good and safe in anesthesia delivery) but because the MDs typically don't go after each others' throats as though they were in a frggin' cat fight! This public display of anamosity is shameful. The MDA are likely laughing their asses off as the read most of the tripe they read posted here. You've heard the phrase "divide to conquer"?? Well, as long as CRNAs and AAs are fighting, guess who's laughing all the way to the bank....they've got the best of all possible scenarios: safe help that's fighting each other and not looking at the real problem which is that the MDAs are overpaid for their educational achievements and what they do every day. They've got us (CRNAs and AAs) to do the work for them.....life is very, very good, if you're an anesthesia doc. Dave S
