He is doing great. He is actually fighting Eddie Dahlen on March 20th at shoreline cc. You should come and check it out, it will be drew's first rematch of his mma career, Eddie defeated Drew about 3 years ago in his 3rd fight.

Here, sometimes. It doesn't seem a lot more interesting on the dark side. As annoying it may be, it sure is more exciting to have some guys stir the pot.

I love watching this particular wrestling match. There are many calls & non-calls that I find very interesting. Probably the most interesting comes at 7:10. Based on the current rules (this match was in December of this year) that require the referee to say "set" confirming that the top man has assumed a legal start position and that the wrestlers are ready to start, is it reasonably possible for there to be a double caution? I have been through a number of different possibilities, and it seems to me that it is nearly impossible.
At 7:10 the official calls a double caution. I am curious what your opinion is. There are a number of other relevant issues in this match that are worth discussion such as fleeing the mat, stalling, and such, but I am interested in what you think of a double caution call.

A couple of very good wrestlers, and a number of non-calls that appeared to have an affect on the match.

First, Blue did not take a shot until the 3 minute mark in the match. He tied up a lot, he tried one shuck, but other than that, nothing that appeared to be offensive until a duck right after the announcer says "59 seconds left in the (2nd) period.

Second, the first turn by Gold appeared to satisfy the criteria for a 2 point near fall - In a high bridge for 2 seconds. According to my count, the official got the one count timed just right (lots of officials are trigger happy on the one count), but was slow on the two count. Perhaps the official saw something there that I did not that caused his "no-call".

The second near fall situation was harder to see from the camera angle. The announcer complained about the no-call, but it seems more likely the official called that one right.

Third - The worst part of the whole match was the 10 out of bounds calls. 3 in the first period, 4 in the second, and 3 in the third period. That's an awful lot of resting and restarting. In 6 of those OOB calls Blue clearly pushed Gold out of bounds (and in 3 more he is likely the instigator) - but clearly he's not being penalized or even warned so there is no incentive for him to wrestler in the middle.

Though the announcer was celebrating those push outs, Blue should have received a TV for fleeing or forcing. Had the official warned the wrestlers about wrestling in the center, or had he called at least one of those situations as fleeing, there would have been more wrestling, less rest stops, and more opportunities for either wrestler to score.

2A SPSL Lets Roll....

Ready for the new 2A SPSL to get going; word on the street is possible SPSL all class 32 man bracket brawl possible at the end of Dec 2010 at Auburn HS; would be tougher that PACCO and give Tri-State and Mat Classic a run for their money.
