Hello, I have inherited a blue willow jug from my mother in law. I know it doesn't have much value as it is chipped in a rather obvious place, and it doesn't have a makers mark. But I would love to know how old it is. Hoping someone here may know. In particular I thought the pinched handle might indicate a particular era? It looks like transfer ware to me as there is a faint white line where I assume the pattern joins. It is surprisingly light, has a hole on the inside of the handle (a vent hole?), and also feels a little dented in one spot at the base, almost like a thumb imprint. It also has a few gritty feeling inclusions in the glaze. There is also a big white spot where the pattern is missing. My mother in law married in the 40's-50's so most of her crockery was from this era, but I wondered if this might be her mothers? (Married 1914). Any help would be much appreciated.
