The willow marked from Japan date from the 1940s through the 70s. This willow was inexpensive and most was made in the 50s/60s time period and was sold in five and dimes such as Woolworths and also sold by mail order. Many different Japanese companies made willow, and it is difficult to know which ones did. Most carried the Japan mark in some fashion, or no mark at all. Occupied Japan willow was marked as such during US occupation, mid 40s through the early 50s.
