I'd visit some of your local antique shops/malls and see what willow you find and buy what you like (always the first rule of collecting anything). If your plan is to decorate your kitchen, you want something you enjoy seeing.
A lot the newer willow (microwave safe) can be found inexpensively; Japan from the 1940s-70s can be found for good prices; and, of course, you can move up into different price ranges, depending on maker, condition and rarity.
You might also search "blue willow" on ebay.com (or red willow, etc) and just look at all the willow items listed. That might be a good way to find the kind of willow you like and get an idea of prices (pricing is not always reflective of value, though!).
Enjoy looking for willow. I think you will find it the perfect accent for your yellow kitchen!
