The marking in the center of the bottom is a fancy shield in blue glaze with "WILLOW" inside, "IRONSTONECHINA" cuved over the top of the shield and "V&B" under the shield.The shield is scalloped and decorated with leaves. Stamped near the bottom rim under the glaze is "M000" The last zero is larger and deeper than the others.
This platter is crazed, it was used for several years in a home in Jakarta, Indonesia before a friend bought it in the market there and brought it home to me--about 1975.
We've used it a little at our family table, but it barely fits in any of my cupboards. I have grown curious as I've never seen another one. Can anyone make an attempt at helping me identify it's use and approximate age? I would welcome any guesses on this. Michelle
