Hi, I am an estate organizer who liquidates non-real property. The current estate I am working on has a willow plate which was mounted on a wall in an open frame (no glass cover) that has a piece of paper anouncing the previous possesions of this plate. The message was typed on a typewriter back in the 1940's. Now with this being said; I have been studying pottery (mostly English and French) for a big portion of my life. But I am not an expert by no means. It is just this is because I want to know the authenticity of this piece. Curiosity got the best of me so I gently removed the paper that had been glued on the backside for the last 60 plus years. I knew there would be no markings but I just had to check. The pottery is handpainted and not on transfer. It is not perfectly round and there is a lot of big inclusions of stones and other material in the clay. I will be more than happy to send a picture upon request. I need to sell this piece for the owner of the estate. She is now 91 years and told me it was 200 plus years old. She is sharp as a tack and comes from a pretigeous background. She is an artist who studied in London. Great artist! Please get back with me because this is kinda over the top for me....She has many many artifacts in her possesion over her lifetime and I am going to the experts before I let go of any of her treasures. I started here.
