Hi Lori, you bring up an age-old question for any collector. I asked the same question when I first started collecting. It can be difficult to date and ID some willow pieces. Better understanding any manufacturing period comes with studying different patterns and marks over a period of time. After you've collected for awhile you can look at a plate and estimate an age with greater accuracy. Of course, any pieces that are marked are more easily identified and can usually be attributed to a date, whether specific or general. Your Churchill pieces are newer and more common, and were supermarket giveaways (and still are) through the Heritage Mint. They are very durable and come in a variety of useful pieces. The marks you describe are most likely from the 1980s/90s. Most willow collectors probably have Churchill and use it -- we do! I hope I helped a little and thanks for visiting our site.
