Re: Blue Willow - Made in Japan in blue ink
Hi, many Japan companies made willow, and identifying them has been difficult. World War II didn't help as many factories were destroyed. You can easily tell the Japan ware by the pattern. On back, some pieces are unmarked, some have blue marks some have black. As for Japan values, it is more dependent on the piece and less the mark. Although sometimes pieces marked Occupied are valued higher to Occupied collectors, probably less important to willow collectors. Some collectors like all the Japan marks to be the same, while others just mix and match all the Japan. A quick glance on ebay will help you the most as far as value. Right now ebay has over 400 items under "Japan willow." I hope this helps some and thanks for visiting our site.
