The Mandarin pattern is the same as Copeland; however, the shapes are different. Depending on the size, this is a sauce tureen or vegetable dish or tureen. There would not have been a ceramic ladle to match. This shape is found in brown as well as blue and was made by Old Hall Porcelain Works, Ltd. 1886-1902. An example of the blue covered dish -- the same as this one is illustrated on p. 226 in my book with Old Hall printed mark and a little impressed mark. The brown set illustrated has an undertray also. These pieces show up at conventions occasionally and can be found in at least one of the IWC Convention catalogs, but I don't see an example in Gaston's 1983 book.
