That cuspidor was made by Hall China Co. When I looked at the photo again, it is obviously the heavy vitrified ware that Hall made, and it has that blue line around the edge. I have looked in Hall China books and don't see a cuspidor listed -- maybe I was looking for a spittoon -- anyway, it is a very rare item, and I am surprised that it isn't marked. Hall China Co. used that blue willow decal on a few items including teapots, and they are widely collected by Hall China Collectors who are willing to pay even higher prices than the willow collectors. It might have been an experimental piece, but I am positive that was made by Hall China Co.
