The mark on the back of your platters tells you the approximate date of your pieces. There are two examples in my book of the pattern. One, a plate with border only pattern and gold added, has the Doulton Mark with a crown on top of the wavy do-nut with England underneath and the pattern name Willow & Aster. That is Geoffrey Godden mark #1332, dated c. 1891-1902. It has a hand-painted pattern number #9843. The covered vegetable dish shown in my book, with an all over pattern and gold cartouches also, has just the text: "DOULTON'S WILLOW & ASTER". That mark is probably just a little earlier -- c. 1882-1891. It doesn't have the word "England". Some of our members seek out this pattern. It is really lovely.
