Your set is willow pattern -- not Mandarin as Mandarin does not have a bridge, and of course no people. It was a pattern produced by Spode and a few others. However, your dishes are willow pattern (as noted in the mark "Willow Ware"). They were made by Royal China in Sebring, Ohio and the pattern was transfer-printed "Underglaze" as also noted in the mark. "M53" indicates that the piece so marked was made in 1953. Royal China made willow pattern primarily in blue -- but quite a large amount in pink, and some green and also brown. I have a lot of information regarding willow pattern made by American potteries in the book I self-published, showing shapes, colors and giving historical information. It is reviewed on this website: "Willow Ware Made in the U.S.A." and available only through me.
