I don't remember specifically if it was Memorial Day though we always seemed to picnic for one holiday or another.

She always made fried chicken from our own flock and potato salad. She'd make cupcakes the day before and we always had Kool-Aid and water to drink.

We'd picnic in different places, but mostly at a park that had everything from small fun rides to a playground with the tallest slide I could imagine. There was a bandshell, swimming pool, wading pool and a lake with row boats you could rent and white ducks that always leisurely floated around. There was a small arcade too. That park had everything.
