I was born up a holler on the bank of a creek in a little house built by my parents.My mother's stepmother and a midwife were present.

My mother was only fourteen and she did not have a painless delivery.For years I joked about not existing because I had no birth certificate.As an adult I found out how to check birth records at the state Capitol in Frankfort.

I still don't have a birth certificate.I did get a certification about my birth being recorded.It has dates and names attending the birth along with names of parents.I actually feared that the old midwife had not sent proper information to state records.So now I know I am indeed an American born citizen.I do exist lol.
