Spencer has kidney disease and I don't expect him to be with me much longer. Since his diagnosis his personality changed, and I can't figure it out.

He does things he's never done before like trying to climb on the back of the couch. As many times as I try to keep him down, he does it over and over. I have to put him in my bedroom and close the door to give me some peace while I'm watching TV.

As I'm sitting at the computer he keeps going under the desk, getting tangled in the cables. I have put up barriers to keep him out and one day, when I came back from errands I couldn't find him and he'd managed to get himself through the barriers. I heard him trying to get out and rustling the cables. I've put more secure things there so he can't.

Anywhere I sit or stand, he's walking right under me or around my feet and I'm afraid I'll either step on him or get tangled up with him and fall.

He crawls under my bed too and he hasn't done that since he was a puppy. I don't mind that though. It's just that he seems to like the darkness.

As I'm sitting on the toilet he tries to go behind it. Now I have to close the bathroom door whenever I do anything in there, even bushing my teeth or fixing my hair.

I'm sorry. I guess I just needed to let it out. He's never done any of this before.
