I was working in the Family History genealogical Library for 40 years. The last twenty, I had several helpers...and now three of them have moved on to THE NEXT CLASSROOM. Helen, very good at tracing the lines of family taught me a lot of how to use a computer. Katrina, taught me diligence and patience as she helped a lady trace her roots back to a place down near Gold Beach, where the males if the family were slaughtered by the Indians. The mother was taken to wife by the chief...and from that line, this client descended.
Katrina worked 4 months on this, had a sheaf of typed findings three inches thick and when she sent it to the lady, didn't even get a thank you.
And now, Donna...who's grandfather who was a special architect and builder of gingerbread houses from Norway, who while she never married, lovingly raised the children of many Port Orford working mothers...worked as an EMT, and left when her historical home burned down, to take care of her 99 year old mother...patience, deep research and now she passed away on Feb. 28th of a sudden stroke.
