I've been awake since 2:30 and finally decided to just come on out to the Kitchen and do my computering. I have an 8:30 appointment for a handyman to come by to give me an estimate on fixing some things around the house that I can't do. I don't want to be constantly asking my brother to fix things for me.

After that, I think I'll try to take a nap. I hope I can because I don't want to be dragging the rest of the day then go to bed early tonight. Grrr.

Rene' got the book Persuasion by Jane Austin for me for Christmas a couple of years ago. It is so hard to get through because of the many, many words to describe things that we just don't use any more. Have any of you had the same experience with a very old book like that?

Reading Huckleberry Finn was hard and so was Gone With the Wind because of the derogatory language that we just don't use any more. Once I got past that, those books were very interesting and I'm glad I read them.

I find that the British use many more words than we do here in the States. More so decades ago. I'm glad we've whittled down our use of words because it's taking me a long time to get through this book.
