My maternal granddaddy was Catholic and I went to daily mass with him very often when young and not in school. As a teen, we attended Midnight mass Christmas Eve as that was the only service in our town in the 60's.

I am not sure but Lucie, in some parts of our county were non Catholics welcomed to attend mass ? Being on the border I don't think it an issue as here it is probably at least 70% Catholic or so.
