My mother never used or owned a cookbook.

She could pour sugar in a pan,add a little milk and boil it then at just the right time add.butter and peanut butter for the absolute best fudge...to us it was candy not fudge lol.The grandkids would fight over it.

I've yet to see anyone make chicken'n dumplings to match the ones she prepared.Her grandsons always wanted her to make her apple pie for them.

She would always call me to come eat with her when she fried potatoes and made meal gravy.Talk about homey and delicious.
