It's been rainy here too, Pattie. Not in the 40s though but low 60s, which is cold for me. Last Thursday, after it had rained the whole day before, the house was quite chilled when I rolled out of bed, I turned the heat on just to get the chill out of the house and lo - no heat. I'd just spend a whole bunch of money on a new A/C heat unit and no heat.

My guy came out and fixed whatever was wrong (no charge as it's under warranty) and now it works perfectly. I don't turn the heat on for long, just to warm it up a bit as this house is small enough that the heat stays in it so I have the temp set so it only kicks on rarely. Perfect!

I do have old age arthritis too, not anything like what you have, and it's the dampness that seems to cause joints to ache. It affects my breathing too. So, I don't do much but try to wear my sweatpants in style and have brought out the old duck feet slippers, which really help keep my feet nice and warm. Getting time to pull out the old, warm pjs too even though I always throw an afghan over my blankets as added warmth. I always turn the thermostat either off or way down at night.
