My understanding is she was taken to ER in a hurry and she didn't take anything with her.Being transferred so far away from home makes it even more difficult to have things brought to her place.Besides with her eyesight problems a phone would be very difficult to use.When I spoke with her it was on a landline in the room at the hospital.

The rest/rehab residence my friend was in had a couple of computers that residents could use in their rec room.They had time limits any one person could use them.
