While getting ready for work I'd use the curling iron and then put my make-up on while watching the Today Show. When I turned it on the first plane had hit and it was still being discussed as an accident. As the hosts were talking the second plan it and I knew right then it was no accident.

My friend was picking me up to take me to work as my car was in the shop. She watched it a little while waiting. She had a friend who worked on a local radio station in Hawaii, so they were still asleep there. She called her to tell her what was happening so she could get right on the radio to report.

When I went to work, the bosses and shop workers had been here way before I got there and were unaware of what had happened. I had a little handheld portable TV and my boss and I watched it at my desk. I then went out to the shop and pulled the TV stand out that we watched safety videos on so the guys could at least hear what was happening as they worked.

The whole day was kind of worthless work wise as we were so horrified at what had happened.

To this day I can't watch those two towers bellowing smoke and then watching the luckier people escaping covered in soot and ash. Sorry for going on so.
